KUBO is currently building its presence in Canada and the US to support local design, project development and past construction support for the North American market.
Your role
KUBO is expanding its footprint across North America, and we are looking for a driven Director to lead and accelerate our commercial growth in the United States and Canada.
Reporting directly to our C-Level Board in the Netherlands this role combines responsibility for building and leading our North American business with strategic sales leadership and strong technical understanding. You are comfortable engaging with growers, investors, and industry partners at the highest level.
In this role you will
In this role, you will lead and develop KUBO’s commercial strategy across North America, driving growth through a strong and well-managed sales pipeline. You will build and maintain relationships with growers, consultants, and investors, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor by delivering clear technical insights and ROI-driven solutions.
At the same time, you lead, coach, and grow a regional sales and technical team, ensuring strong performance and collaboration. You work closely with our engineering teams in the Netherlands to align client needs with innovative and technically sound solutions, while staying closely informed about market trends, competitors, and developments within the Controlled Environment Agriculture sector.
You also represent KUBO at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows, strengthening our presence in the market.
You act as the key link between our clients in North America and our engineering teams in the Netherlands, translating market needs into innovative, high-quality greenhouse solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on building, developing, and delivering results in a dynamic and growing market.
Your approach
- Lead and develop KUBO’s commercial strategy across North America;
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from lead generation to contract closure;
- Lead, coach, and grow a regional sales and technical team;
- Develop and maintain relationships with growers, consultants, and investors;
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering technical presentations and ROI-based solutions;
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams in the Netherlands to align client needs with technical solutions;
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and developments within Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA);
- Represent KUBO at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the North American sales strategy in alignment with global commercial objectives;
- Lead, coach, and mentor a regional sales team (inside and field-based);
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through contract closure;
- Forecast revenue, track KPIs, and report to global management.
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with commercial growers, agri-tech companies, and investors;
- Deliver technical presentations, system proposals, and ROI analyses to key stakeholders;
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring technical requirements are understood and integrated into solutions.
Technical Expertise & Solution Design
- Understand and articulate the benefits and specifications of greenhouse structures, climate control systems, automation, and integrated technologies;
- Work closely with engineering, design, and project management teams in the Netherlands to translate client needs into tailored solutions;
- Conduct site visits, feasibility evaluations, and preliminary concept discussions.
Market Development
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory environments related to CEA and greenhouse construction;
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical events;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, distributors, and regional consultants.
Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Ensure seamless communication between North American operations, sales, and Dutch headquarters;
- Provide input on product development and regional requirements;
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and customer experience.
reQuired qualifications
In this role, you are responsible for driving KUBO’s commercial growth across North America. You lead the development and execution of the sales strategy, while building strong relationships with growers, investors, and partners. You combine commercial leadership with technical understanding and work closely with our engineering teams in the Netherlands to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions. At the same time, you lead and develop a high-performing regional team and ensure continuous improvement in performance and processes.
What you bring
- 10+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or project consulting, preferred, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Agricultural Technology, or related field;
- Experience within greenhouse technology, CEA, or related technical environment;
- Experience working with international, multi-disciplinary teams;
- Leadership experience managing sales teams and technical professionals with a strong business acumen;
- Proven leadership experience managing sales and technical teams, climate technologies, HVAC, automation, or related systems;
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering proposals
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills;
- Willingness to travel within North America and internationally.
