The successful candidate will:

• Be fluent in English;
• Have experience in motiving students to complete various project based activities;
• Be internationally minded;
• Be willing to learn to use creative software and equipment (Lasercutter, 3D printer);
• Possess an inspiring and empowering influence on our students through positive classroom management;
• Have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to teaching;
• Be willing to regularly adapt, improve and invigorate the curriculum;
• Design/Product development experience is preferred but not required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our fun and dynamic team at Laar & Berg.

Our design department encourages our students to investigate real life problems, develop realistic solutions, create suitable solutions and finally to evaluate their effectiveness. The design department encourages creative thinking, solution focused strategies, initiate critical feedback and foster an open-minded approach. Teachers at Laar & Berg achieve high standards by demonstrating a willingness to succeed and the flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the community.

Laar & Berg is a safe and friendly school with around 800 students, where everyone knows eachother because of the small scale. As a new teacher you will receive good guidance. Collegiality, involvement and a good atmosphere are characteristic of the Laar & Berg team.

Laar & Berg is a school community where students in lower secondary education receive bilingual education in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organisation. Students then follow a HAVO or VWO exam programme. Our aim is to help the student achieve the highest possible result for him or her, both academically and in personal development.
