Vacature Senior Front-end Developer

What are you going to do?

Voordeeluitjes.nl is the accommodation packages specialist in the Netherlands and is looking for experienced Front-end developers. Our software development department currently consists of international ‘Scrum’ teams. The team comprises C# .NET developers, PHP developers, Front-end  developers, Testers and a Product Owner.

We are constantly working on the improving and expansion of our applications. This includes automating the administrative processing via a payment provider, the application of multiple languages, improving the front-end, the coupling with new partners and the converting of current functions in a modular microservice environment. With this, the basis is always having a good quality of code and an optimal working procedure. The goal is to work as a team and to improve as a team.

As a Front-end developer you will work on improving and adapting the current Front-end applications. Currently we are busy enhancing our ReactJS application to be compliant with Accessibility guidelines, integrating various payment options in the booking line and setting up, managing and analysing various A / B tests.

You work in a scrum team with which you determine the priorities together with the Product Owners. In consultation with the Product Owner you will provide all the necessary documentation and knowledge that you need to carry out for the case or the project. If necessary, you consult the stakeholders to collect the correct information. Also, together with the Product Owner and designers, you provide the correct mock-ups and visualisations. When all the information is available, you start working with the team, make the right documentation and plan the cases for the upcoming sprint. You work in bi-weekly sprints and the goal is to, as a team, finalise the jointly planned cases at the end of the sprint. For each sprint the planned cases are ‘pokered’ [high-low split] and at the end of the sprint you evaluate together with the team how all has proceeded.

What we get from you?

We are looking for an experienced Front-end developer who can bring in his/ her knowledge and experience for the improving and expanding of the current Front-end application.

We have a passion for developers with opinions and ideas. We believe it is important that as a senior Front-end developer you can guide the quality of the code and the working processes, manage them and where necessary improve them.

What we are looking for:

• ReactJS Expert: You dream about ReactJS or other UI frameworks and know how to leverage them effectively. With 5+ years of experience.
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript Wizardry: You’re highly skilled in these core front-end technologies and web design principles.
• Testing and Debugging: You should have experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing tools (e.g., Mocha, Chai, Cypress, React Testing Library)
• Responsive Design: You have extensive experience creating interfaces that look great on any device.
• State management: You should have good understanding of managing states of complex applications (e.g., Redux, MobX, etc)
• Mentoring and Coaching: You should have experience with mentoring junior developers, have great problem solving skills and take initiative.

Nice to haves:

• A good understanding of SEO best practices and Google Analytics 4.
• Experience with tools like Prerender and Puppeteer.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript.
• Knowledge of web accessibility and web performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Node.js and full-stack JavaScript frameworks like Next.js
