About the Department

Within our warehouse operations in Born, efficiency, safety and timely unloading of containers are key. The unloading team is a vital part of our inbound operation: they ensure that goods are handled, stacked and positioned correctly so that all subsequent processes can run smoothly. As Team Lead, you play a crucial role in the daily management of this team and in safeguarding quality and safety standards.

Your Role

As Warehouse Team Lead (Unloading Team), you are responsible for the daily coordination, planning and supervision of the unloading team. You ensure that containers are unloaded according to planning, procedures and safety regulations. You manage output, quality and team development and act as the linking pin between operations, planning and management.

You are actively present on the warehouse floor when needed, maintain continuous overview, and identify any disruptions in the process. You are a visible leader for the team, provide guidance where required and create a safe, motivated and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the unloading team and safeguarding an efficient workflow.
  • Preparing schedules, task allocation and monitoring progress and deadlines.
  • Processing leave requests and reporting absenteeism.
  • Checking correct handling, labeling, stacking and placement of unloaded goods.
  • Safeguarding quality, safety and compliance with customer agreements.
  • Identifying bottlenecks, analysing root causes and implementing improvements.
  • Coaching, motivating and developing team members.
  • Supervising and instructing temporary workers, including quality and safety control.
  • Reporting performance, incidents and improvement opportunities to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Working with KPIs and actively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Profile

  • MBO+ level of working and thinking, preferably in Logistics.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of logistics processes, safety standards and WMS/ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills with a coaching leadership style.
  • Stress-resistant, solution-oriented and able to maintain overview in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong focus on quality, safety and housekeeping.
  • Good command of Polish and English, both spoken and written (Dutch is nice to have).

What We Offer

  • A responsible role within a growing and dynamic logistics organisation.
  • Room for initiative and visible impact on operations.
  • Opportunities for growth within GDB Logistics.
  • Competitive salary and attractive secondary benefits.
  • A close-knit team where cooperation is key.
