Team leader International Primary School Groningen (IPS)

International Primary School Groningen (IPS) provides English medium education for the children of internationally mobile families.  The school is a department of Groningse Schoolvereniging  (GSV) operating its own curriculum. The GSV is an innovative school with three different departments at different locations: the gifted department, the bilingual department and the international primary school.
We are looking for a Team Leader, role which in Dutch schools would be similar to a head teacher.
The Team Leader of the IPS has a team of approximately 20 employees who work as (subject) teachers, specialists and support staff. You are a member of the GSV management team (5 team leaders and the managing-director) and contribute to the policy development of the entire school organization.  You are responsible for the leadership, high quality education and the further development of the curriculum at the IPS and for continuing to position the school as a beacon for international education in the north of the Netherlands.

For our organisation, we are seeking someone who:

- Has experience and knowledge of international education, and in particular the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum

- Has the necessary primary education teaching qualifications

- Has strong leadership and communication skills

- Has experience in a managerial position in international education

- Is skilled in supporting and motivating the team

- Masters the English language at a high level C2

- Is willing to learn Dutch to fully play a role in the life of the GSV and the Netherlands

General information:

The Groningen School Association (GSV) has been a school for primary education since 1910.

"We want to help our students to grow into independent global citizens who can find their place in the international society of the 21st century, in all areas of their lives: in relationships, study, work and society, with attention for their immediate environment."

The school has about 850 pupils, divided between the three departments, of which about 115 are  in the International department. We have a mobile population of students who stay on average for a couple of years and  we work in small classes of about 20-22 students.
