Ferus Smit heeft zich gespecialiseerd in de bouw van commerciële vrachtschepen en onderscheidt zich door het 100% zelfstandig bouwen en ontwerpen van haar complete producten. De werf heeft vestigingen in Westerbroek (Groningen) en Leer (Duitsland) waar 5 tot 8 zeeschepen per jaar worden gebouwd, variërend in grootte tussen 2500 en 30.000 Tdwt. De orderportefeuille is tot 2025 gevuld.

Door continu te verbeteren in ontwerp en in productieprocessen heeft Ferus Smit een toonaangevende positie verworven in de scheepsnieuwbouw. Binnen deze strategie is vakmanschap van essentieel belang. Wij werken bij voorkeur met mensen uit de regio.
