The Job Description

Dynamic Positioning (DP) is a computer-controlled system to automatically maintain a vessel's position and direction by using propellers and thrusters. Our “Dynamic Positioning System” is mainly a software-based system that runs on our own hardware. We are constantly working to further develop the system. We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Dynamic Positioning Team. Your role is to liaise with the Sales, Production and Innovation departments. You will report to the Project Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Project Management and engineering from client specification to delivery and sea-trials
• Daily interaction with colleagues from Sales, Design, Production and Innovation departments
• Communicating with Clients about project specific details
• Addressing challenges that might arise during the project
• Generating project specific documentation like design drawings and protocols
• Hardware and software configuration and testing for each system
• Organizing the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) approval with the Classification Society and the Client
• Commissioning of the systems, either on site or remotely
• After Sales and Customer Support
• Supporting the development of the Dynamic Positioning system in all aspects

Skills And Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor’s degree, preferably in automation, electrical or automotive engineering
• A beginner or someone with several years of relevant work experience
• Experience in developing and maintaining good relationships with Clients is a plus
• Affinity with automation, mathematics, physics and programming
• Customer oriented attitude
• Good communication skills
• Ability to travel abroad
• Good analytical skills
• Team player and a positive attitude
• English speaking required
